Chapter 2

“DEEMA!” Shoug shouted pulling me out of my thoughts
“Hmm?” I mumbled still in denial.
“Are you okay?” Shoug asked furrowing her eyebrows.
“Yeah, I’m sorry, umm- it’s just a lot to take in” I said my eyes stinging with tears.
“I really hope this won’t change or effect anything in anyway, I can’t afford to lose you” Shoug said grabbing my hand.
I managed to fake a small smile and mumble “it wont”.
“I- I have to go, Lama is waiting for me” I said getting up
“Oh where are you going?” Shoug said also getting up
“Just going to walk around, I want to make every second in London special” I said fighting the urge to run away to somewhere where no one knows me.
“Oh, can I tag along?” Shoug said
“It’s nothing special really,” I said.
I have to get out of here.
“But you just said-“ Shouq said
“Yeah, I tend to over exaggerate, stupid habit, we wont be going anywhere special, and I have to leave in a few” and with that I walked away as fast as I could so she couldn't say anything else.
It all seems like a dream nightmare that I would wake up from in a few seconds, this is unbelievable.

--
I twirled in my sky blue sundress loving the feeling I was getting.
I was spinning faster and faster, and for a minute there I had absolutely nothing on my mind, not Shoug, not Fahad, nothing.
“What are you doing? People are staring!” Lama said laughing at me
I stopped and looked at her in the eyes
“If people are staring… then lets give them something to stare at,” I said winking
“You’re disgusting,” she said laughing and pushing my shoulder
“I’m not responsible for your dirty mind" I said
This is one of the many things I love about Lama once I’m with her, nothing goes wrong, and everything would feel so much better, life just suddenly seems brighter when she's around.
“Where are we going anyways?” Lama said
“We'll take it to the sky past the moon
Through the galaxy” I sang
"My friend's an idiot" she shouted laughing
--

I walked back to our little cozy house, I have spent every summer in that house for the past 7 years, that house holds the most crazy, and amazing memories.
“HEY!” I heard someone yell as I got closer to the door, I turned around looking for the source of voice, and just my luck, Fahad was standing at the end of the street with a big smile on his face, I waved with a small smile.
I will not cry, he is not worth the tears, no guy is.
“How are you” He said coming closer, I wanted to run away, to yell at him, to tell him to back off, but all I managed to do is mumble ‘fine’, we stayed silent for a minute or two, not saying a word, and it was not comfortable, it was awkward.
“I’m going back to Kuwait for the weekend” he said cutting off the silence.
“Oh, have a safe trip” I said with a small smile.
Go away, you’re hurting me.
I kept my gaze on my shoes; I did not want to look up to his beautiful hazel eyes.
“Umm- I have to go,” I said pointing to our house.
“Ill walk you,” he said
Please don’t.
“You don’t have to” I said
“You live right next door, it would be a stupid not to”
And then, for the first time, I wished that I had just stayed in Kuwait.
